Autotransfusion products collect and process a patient's own blood during surgery, thus helping the patient avoid transfusions with donor, or banked, blood. Terumo Cardiovascular Systems is the exclusive distributor in the US for the only available continuous flow autotranfusion system, the Fresenius C.A.T.S (Continuous AutoTransfusion System). The Fresenius C.A.T.S offers many advantages over traditional "bowl" autotransfusion systems, including fast processing time, higher hematocrit levels, and volume independent operation.
